The Distinctives of Grace

Rebuilding the Foundation

In a contemporary landscape where many fundamental doctrines are misunderstood or ignored, the "Distinctives of Grace" serves to regain and rebuild the basic tenets of the faith. These doctrines are not human philosophies but are intended to establish the church as the "pillar and support of the truth."

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us."

A.W. Tozer.

The Five Solas

These core Reformational principles distinguish Biblical Christianity from all other systems:

Sola Scriptura:

Scripture alone is the final and sole authority for faith and practice.

Sola Gratia:

We are saved and sanctified by God's grace alone, with no merit of our own.

Sola Fide:

Justification is received through faith alone, the instrument of salvation.

Sola Christus:

Christ alone is the mediator; His work is sufficient for our redemption.

Sola Deo Gloria:

All of creation and salvation exists for the glory of God alone.

The Doctrines of Grace

Often referred to as the Five Points of Calvinism, these points highlight God's sovereignty in salvation:

Total Depravity:

Man is spiritually dead and
incapable of saving himself.

Unconditional Election:

God chooses His own based solely on His purpose and grace.

Limited Atonement:

Christ’s death specifically
secured the salvation of His people.

Irresistible Grace:

God’s internal call effectively draws the elect to Himself.

Perseverance:

Those truly saved will be kept by
God's power until the end.
